Depending on the route you choose to take, you could visit 9 states in one road trip - Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, and finally California. Indiana

Pay a quick visit to Monument Circle, the hub of the city of Indianapolis. Stretch your legs at Fort Harrison state park before getting back on the road.

Illinois

If you opt to go via Illinois instead, there's plenty to do. Take a quick 45 min river cruise in Chicago.

If you're brave enough, visit the Skydeck for unparalleled views of the city.

Missouri

From Illinois, make your way down to Missouri and visit Mark Twain National Forest where you can hike, swim, and spend the night.

If you're into history, pay a visit to the detailed replica Titanic Museum in Branson.

Spend the night at the famous Lake of the Ozarks State Park - it's the largest park in the state and has multiple campsites.

Oklahoma

If aviation is your thing, the Tulsa Air and Space Museum is a must.

Visit the beautiful Tulsa Botanic Gardens for a picturesque afternoon.

If you're looking for a unique experience this is certainly it. Book an indoor skydive in Oklahoma City.

If you're not a fan of city life it's worth taking a detour and going straight to Gloss Mountain State Park instead.

Texas

You likely won't be in Texas for too long, but make sure you don't miss Palo Dura Canyon State Park - there's multiple different trails and of course the famous lighthouse rock.

New Mexico

What better way to start the day than a hot air balloon ride at sunrise in Albuquerque?

You have no shortage of National Parks in New Mexico. You could choose from either Santa Fe National Forest

Or, Cibola National Forest

Or, the Zuni Mountians

Arizona

Make your first stop in Arizona the Petrified Forest National Park.

Head to Sedona and make this your base for the day. Take a guided tour of the iconic Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend - no trip to Arizona would be complete without it.

At night, take part in a stargazing session led by professional astronomers.

A truly one of a kind bucket list experience, take a tour by airplane over the Grand Canyon.

Nevada

Whether your final destination is Vegas or you're just passing through, make sure you see an iconic Cirque Du Soleil show at the Bellagio.

California
